Saturday 14th May – NYSD Division 2
Stokesley 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was sunny and warm. Stokesley won the toss and chose to bat first.
Stokesley 2nd XI 279 for 9 after 50 overs
Luke Telford 3 for 58, James Layfield-Carroll 2 for 33 and Adam Gittins 2 for 50
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 179 all out after 38 overs
Chris Palmer 25, George Slatcher 22 and Luke Telford 21
Aycliffe’s 1st XI were disappointingly beaten by 100 runs away at bottom of the table Stokesley 2nd XI in the NYSD 2nd division.
Luke Telford (sponsored by Mal and Jean Pattinson, pictured above) bowled well in the Stokesley innings finishing with the respectable figures of 3 for 58 from 15 overs and he then followed that up with 21 runs from 26 balls when Aycliffe replied.
After the first five games, Aycliffe are yet to taste victory and drop into the relegation zone in 11th place in the table with 43 points.

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Billingham Synthonia 2nd XI – weather was sunny and warm. Billingham Synthonia won the toss and chose to bat first.
Billingham Synthonia 2nd XI 229 for 3 declared after 34 overs
Will Dearden 1 for 20, Matty French 1 for 34 and Harrison Pearson 1 for 50
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI 105 all out after 36.4 overs

Newton Aycliffe’s youngsters in the 2nd XI made their vastly more experienced counterparts in Billingham Synthonia’s 2nd XI work hard to earn their 124 run victory.
Fifteen-year-old acting captain Tom Dearden (sponsored by Kevin Burton) did well to marshal his team in difficult circumstances and then still managed to top score when Aycliffe replied with a defiant 23 from 80 balls faced.
