WOODHAM ACADEMY SEEKS NEW TEACHING ASSISTANT

December 18th, 2014 Aycliffe Today Reporter News 0 comments 851

woodham academy

Higher Level Teaching Assistant
required for January 2015
Grade 6 Point 21-25 (subject to HLTA qualification)

The Governors of Woodham Academy seek to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to manage the day-to-day running of the school’s Behaviour for Learning Centre which supports the learning of students eligible for Pupil Premium and those identified as having social, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess activities and strategies to advance learning, working with individuals, small groups and whole classes without the presence of a teacher. He/she will also co-ordinate the work of outside agencies to support students. Candidates should have experience of working with young people and should possess relevant qualifications. We would, however, consider candidates without HLTA status who would commit to gaining the necessary accreditation during the next 2 years.

Woodham Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to a full enhanced disclosure procedure via the National Criminal Records Bureau prior to appointment.

For further details and an information pack, please telephone Mrs Lesley Buck at the school.

Closing date for applications: First post Tuesday 6th January 2015.
