Below is a round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section…

10th / 11th December Roundup

Under 10’s Whites – Played NE Sports Youth Hammers. Aycliffe started confidently, scoring first half goals from Oscar and a brace from Billy. Into the second half Aycliffe’s defence held firm and Ryley H added to the tally with a late goal. MOTM was Billy, for his energetic performance and some excellent finishing.

7th / 8th January Roundup

Under 7’s Reds – Had an away friendly at Billingham Jnr Lions, Aycliffe played well in an entertaining game with all eleven goals coming from Kian. MOTM was shared between the team.

Under 9’s – Played Redcar, and in an entertaining game full of goals. Joseph (3) and Marshall with the goals, the assists coming from Marshall (2), Olly P and Fletcher. MOTM was awarded to Jace.

Under 10’s Blacks – Hosted North Ormesby, on a heavy pitch, Aycliffe showed a wonderful attitude throughout the game. MOTM was Fletcher who was outstanding in defence.

Under 11’ Juniors – Entertained Whitby Fisherman Athletic. Aycliffe played some lovely passing football with the breakthrough coming after Daniel set up Jonah for a lovely finish. POTM was Jonah for a fantastic display.

Under 14’s Blacks – Hosted Washington in the third round of the cup. Aycliffe dominated the first half against a physical opposition but trailed at half time 0-1. Washington doubled the lead, before a penalty from Jayden was followed by an equaliser from Jake. Jake then grabbed a late winner to give Aycliffe a 3-2 win and into the next round of the cup. MOTM was Harry.

Under 14’s Whites – Played a friendly against Eaglescliffe Elementis Blues, in tough conditions, but getting some invaluable minutes in after a long break.

Under 18’s – Played Sedgefield in the quarter finals of the County Cup. Aycliffe dominated coming away with a 6-1 win. Goals from Tom, Jacob, Charlie, and Jack (3). Aycliffe will now play Redcar Athletic Under 23’s in the semi-final.

14th / 15th January Roundup

Under 7’s Reds – Entertained Billingham Juniors, with goals being scored by Kian (5) and an opposition own goal. MOTM was awarded to Thomas.

Under 10’s Blacks – Played three friendly games against Coulby Newham, giving a great account of themselves with goals from Max and Chase. MOTM was Chase for a hardworking display up front.

Under 11’s Blacks – Played Wear Utd, in even game, both sides scored some great goals. Rhys grabbed all three goals. MOTM went to James for his determination and battling skills which were relentless.

Under 11’s Juniors – Entertained Kader FC, Aycliffe scored after lovely play down the left between Dan & Dom set Jonah to score, before Dec got Aycliffe’s second. Aycliffe stayed together throughout and worked extremely hard. POTM went to Jensen for a commanding performance in goal.

Under 13’s – Played Grangetown Boys in a friendly, winning 6-2. Goals from Ethan, Alexander, Huey (2) and Keaton (2). MOTM was awarded to Frankie.

Under 14’s Blacks – Entertained Ouston Eagles, Aycliffe dominated winning 10-0. Goals from Alex (4), Jake (3), Danny, Keaton, and Isaac. MOTM was awarded to Alex.

Under 18’s – Travelled to Stokesley, Aycliffe led early on with a goal from Thomas. Aycliffe could not hold onto the lead and conceded in the second half drawing 1-1.
