Students from Greenfield College visited Aycliffe firm Ineos as part of an Apprentice Awareness Programme.
Twenty-five pupils from the school visited the site to learn about jobs and apprenticeship positions.
Leanne Kennedy, who completed an apprenticeship at Aycliffe, acted as their mentor and they received contributions from Chris Booles (ex-Aycliffe apprentice), Barry Wilkinson (ex apprentice) and Geoff Richardson (Training & Process Technologist) who coordinated apprenticeships.
Following the visit and back at the school, Leanne helped the students prepare a presentation on the company.
Five other companies took part in the programme which will end with a grand finale on 18th March with presentations to funders, the press and other VIPs.
