A round-up of action from Aycliffe ‘Youthy’…

Under 14 Girls 12 v 0 Birtley
The best game of football these girls have played this season so far. Keeping the ball on the ground, passing on top form and clinical in front of goal. In windy conditions they started on the front foot, and this continued throughout. A real tidy performance with lots of positive play. POTM went to Megan who had a great half in goal & then an awesome 2nd as a forward.

Under 10 Wildcats v Darlington Locomotives
A very tight game with great football from both sides, 0-0 at HT. It was Loco’s which scored early in the second half. The girls rallied, digging deep & scored a well-deserved equaliser by Alice R. Well done on a great performance by all the girls today! Well done to Erin & Alice R for picking up Parents & Coaches Player of the Match.

Under 11 Wildcats v Belmont Robins
From the first whistle to the last we competed today. We passed the ball extremely well. Lucy got us underway with a good strike, after great passing from the back. HT 1-0. Phoebe scored our second from a great cross into the box, then Mia went on a superb run to drive the ball into the net. The fourth was a goal from Evie with a great strike, before Belmont scored a consolation.

Redcar Athletic Blues v Under 11 Eagles
Great game from both sides, with some awesome goals to boot. Faris, Sam, Tarek, Lucas & Dylen all made it onto the score sheet this week. Man of the Match this week goes to Sam! Well done Eagles!

Durham County Girls 0 v 5 Under 12 Girls
We took the game to the opposition straight from the off and went 3-0 up within the first 20 minutes. The second half was a bit more challenging due to the slightly uphill pitch and the head on wind, but we held firm at the back and managed two more goals to finish 5-0. POTM: Eva

Under 12 Eagles 4 v 3 Hartlepool St Francis
An evenly matched game but Newton Aycliffe manged to win the game 4-3. Goal scorers Jack T , Lucas, Borys(on his debut), and Dan. Well deserved MOM was Aiden.

Under 13 Angels 7 v 1 Beamish Lionesses
A class performance from a group of players, each playing at top of their game. It took a while for the first goal, but 4 came before HT (Heidi, Romilly, Sophie & Poppy). We continued to dominate the second half with Sophie (Players Star) and Poppy (Coaches Star) covering every inch of the pitch. 7-1 at FT, with goals added by Evie, Freyja and a 2nd for Romilly.

Under 14 Girls (Sunday) 2 v 3 Winlaton Hurricanes
Top of the table clash. After a 2-2 draw in the first game of the season, this was another tense and exciting game which saw Winlaton just edge it. We went 1-0 up through Romilly, before they took a 3-1 lead. Layken saved a penalty and Demi smashed in an awesome goal to make it 3-2 for a frantic last 5. It wasn’t to be. Saf and Isobel were the Players and Coaches Star Picks.
