Samantha McGarrigle has made her way to London to perform live on Friday night’s Channel 4 show The Singer Takes It All.
Since she got the all important phone call from the producers on Wednesday morning, telling her she’d made it to the televised programme, the Aycliffe singer has had to hectically get her things together.
From running around getting her hair done to finding three outfits to wear on the night, Sam is looking forward to her biggest performance yet after only ever performing in local clubs.
Your votes helped to put Sam into to top five out of thousands of hopefuls – and now she needs them again.
On Friday night’s show, from 9pm, she will be performing the same song as her ‘hopeful’ video: My Heart Will Go On, by Celine Dion.
“I’d just like to thank every single person that voted because without them I wouldn’t have this opportunity,” Sam told Aycliffe Today.
“I’ve been so nervous I can barely eat but I’m ready for it now. I’m so grateful for each and every vote.”
As well as practising the Titanic song, Sam is due to receive an email with six songs that she has less than 24 hours to learn for if she gets into the final.
Only your votes can help Sam into the final where she will be randomly picked one of the six songs to sing and try and stay in the Gold Zone for as long as possible.
To vote, you must download The Singer Takes It All from the App stores on both Android and iPhone and vote ‘Hit’ while she is singing live.
To start, the contestants are given 10 seconds to introduce themselves and the quicker you vote, the quicker the moving track takes her into the Gold Zone.
The singer who is in the Gold Zone for the longest time gets the chance to sing in the final for up to £15,000.
Sam has three children and her daughter, 19, will be watching from the VIP boxes in the audience with her boyfriend and Sam’s husband.
The Singer Takes It All will be on Channel 4 on Friday from 9pm.
