Aycliffe firms PWS, Baltic Training Services and Raisco will battle it out for the Company of the Year gong at next week’s eagerly-awaited Make Your Mark awards event.

A total of 65 nominations involving 37 different companies on Aycliffe Business Park were nominated in the third annual Make Your Mark competition.

A panel of judges – consisting of John Clare (Aycliffe Town and Durham County councillor), Steven Hugill (Northern Echo business editor), Tom Dower (UTC South Durham), Steven Robson (South Durham Enterprise Agency), John Parnell (Business Durham) and Kerina Clark (the Xcel Centre) – this week decided on the award shortlists and winners.

And 26 businesses are all in the running to pick up an award at next Wednesday’s black tie do at the Xcel Centre (March 1).

Beaumont Grounds Maintenance, Commercial Expert and Tree Tops Children’s Occupational Therapy will go head-to-head in the Small Business of the Year category.

BTS Fabrications, Premo Fabrications and PWS Worksurfaces, meanwhile, have been shortlisted in the Engineering & Manufacturing category.

• The event is close to selling out – but a limited number of tickets, costing just £29.95 each, are available from www.aycliffeawards.co.uk or by emailing [email protected]. Included is a three-course meal, champagne reception and the opportunity for relaxed networking and an evening out with colleagues.
