A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section…

Under 7’s Whites – Put in a wonderful performance scoring four great goals through Oliver (2), Louie, and Felix. POTM was Jack and Parents POTM was Oliver.

Under 7’s Reds – Played against Riverside Jnr Blues, scoring one goal from Kian, MOTM was awarded to Alfie.

Under 7’s Juniors – Had a great start to the season at home against Cleveland Juniors. In a very close game, keepers Luke and Joey made some great saves. Goals come from Felix K (2), Reuben, and Lincoln. MOTM was Felix K who worked really hard all over the pitch.

Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to Riverside Juniors Athletic, scoring a great goal when Max latched onto a lovely through ball from Jarrod and calmly slotted into the bottom corner. Despite some good chances Aycliffe could not score again, going close through Fin. In goal Liam made some fine saves to win him MOTM.

Under 10’s Whites – Played against AFC Tigers, putting in a wonderful performance and scoring a goal through Ethan. MOTM was awarded to Ethan.

Under 11’s Blacks – Played against CLS Wolves in an even match it was Rhys who scored the goal for Aycliffe. MOTM was Charlie with some outstanding saves.

Under 12’s – Played at home to top of the table Marske, in a game that Aycliffe controlled they conceded against the run of play. Despite the hard work Aycliffe could not find a breakthrough. MOTM was Sam.

Under 13’s – Had a tough day against Billingham Lions, unable to get a goal on the day. MOTM was Oliver.

Under 14’s Blacks – Hosted Washington Blues today, in a top of the table clash. After a tight first half,
Jake opened the scoring, before Washington equalised. Jake then scored a penalty before Danny made it a 3-1 win for Aycliffe.

Under 14’s Whites – Hosted Eaglescliffe Yellows, in their first game in three months, Aycliffe fell behind early before Jayden crossed and Tom equalised. It was then Jake C who crossed for Jayden to give Aycliffe the lead, before Jayden scored again soon after. Into the second half Jayden completed his hat-trick by finishing Sam’s cross. Eaglescliffe scored again, before Sam crossed from the right and Tom fired home a perfect header. Eaglescliffe scored again, but a wonderful 5-3 win to Aycliffe to make it eight wins from eight. MOTM was Jayden.

Under 15’s Reds – Hosted Kader, rushing into an early two goal lead thanks to Reuben and Thomas. Kader made the game a scrappy and feisty affair pulling one goal back. Aycliffe sealed 4-1 win with further goals coming from Reuben and Harry. MOTM was Harry.

Under 15’s Whites – Had a tough assignment against a very good Boro Reds, losing 6-2. Jake and Mason were the scorers. MOTM was Tyler R.

Under 17’s – Travelled to Durham in their first game since November. In a slow start, Aycliffe trailed, before two goals from Liam give them the lead. George then saved a Durham penalty, before Liam completed his hat-trick to give Aycliffe the 3-1 win. MOTM was Liam.

Under 18’s – Travelled to Ferryhill Town, going down 3-1, Aycliffe’s goal coming from Zack.
