Police acted quickly when a man was spotted buying booze for kids at Tesco in the town.
Working with Tesco security staff, Aycliffe officers apprehended the male after he was identified to be buying alcohol for the youths.
He was given a £90 fixed penalty notice.
A neighbourhood Police Team statement read: “The beat team will actively target people buying alcohol for underage youths.
“The team would also like to thank security staff at Tesco for their invaluable help in tackling this problem!”
