Residents in County Durham are being reminded of changes to rubbish and recycling collections over the Christmas period.
Bins will be emptied as normal up to and including Friday, December 21, with collections affected during the weeks beginning Monday, December 24, and Monday, December 31.
Revised Christmas collection dates will be:
• If your normal collection day is a Tuesday, your revised Christmas collection will take place on Thursday, December 27.
• If your collection day is normally a Wednesday, revised collection will take place on Friday, December 28.
• If your collection day is a Thursday, your Christmas collection will be on Saturday, December 29.
• If your collection day is a Friday, your Christmas collection will be Monday, December 31.
Collections during the week beginning Monday, December 31, will take place one day later than usual. For example, if you normal collection date would be Tuesday, January 1, your collection will take place on Wednesday, January 2.
Normal collections will resume on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
The last day for bulky waste and white goods collections will be Friday, December 21, with the service resuming on Tuesday, January 8. To book a collection online, visit www.durham.gov.uk/bulkywaste
The council will once again be offering a collection service for real Christmas trees. Bookings, for collection in the New Year, can be made by visiting www.durham.gov.uk or calling 03000 260 000 between Monday, December 17, and Sunday, January 6.
