In every issue of our Aycliffe Business magazine, we take a break and sit down with a different employee or business owner/leader to ask them 20 questions about a variety of subjects.

In our latest edition, Aycliffe-based Digital Edge creative director Graham Marsh answers our 20 questions over a cuppa…

1: What do you do?
A: I run and am the creative mind behind Digital Edge.

2: Who have you worked for in the past?
A: A gnome manufacturer (don’t ask), Xcel Church, EE, Redworth Hall Hotel, A Way Out charity.

3: Best part of your job?
A: We have an incredible team; we laugh uncontrollably every day. One of our staff members leaves most days with a headache from laughing so much.

4: Is there anything about your job that you really don’t like?
A: Admin… I can’t stand it, there is no place for admin in my life. Very similar to mushrooms.

5: Favourite thing about working on Aycliffe Business Park?
A: It feels like home. We work with so many local businesses that we have built friendships with and continue to support. I also love a Greggs!

6: Which company/individual on the park do you do the most work with?
A: We work with over 60 businesses on the business park, but Ramsey’s Garage is our most consistent client – a great company to work with who are always open to ideas and inspiration.

7: Which Aycliffe business or individual do you tip for future success?
A: Without a doubt Jonny Dent from Super Power Toys. He has built a business from his garage and now supplies his wrestling products worldwide. What a guy.

8: Four famous people you’d love to have round for dinner and why?
A: Eric Cantona (a footballing genius), Bear Grylls (does he really sleep in hotels?), Colin Ball (AKA “Trigger” from Only Fools & Horses) and Francis Jones of BBC Three (he is a local legend).

9: If you could do something else in business, what would it be?
A: I would open a crisp sandwich shop because who doesn’t love a crisp sandwich?

10: Who’s your favourite Tweeter?
A: Fabrizio Romano – he is always the first to reveal football transfers.

11: Have you ever done anything really daring?
A: Sky Diving. It was incredible. It is the closest you will ever get to being superman. However, have you ever seen me and Superman in the same room?

12: What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve been given?
A: Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

13: If money was no object, what would be your ideal car?
A: A matte black Mini Cooper – I’m sure Ramsey’s Garage could help me out.

14: Money no object, your dream holiday would be?
A:  A tour of America stopping off in Vegas for a UFC event with front row tickets.

15: Do you have a favourite band or type of music?
A: Coldplay.

16: What is your greatest achievement?
A: I left school with very little in terms of education and have built a business that enables others to live their dreams.

17: How would you best describe yourself in four words?
A: Creative, Joker, Visual, Sprinter Mentality.

18: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: Living a life of freedom, exploring the world and eating great food.

19: Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met?
A: Eric Cantona.

20: Do you have any guilty pleasures?
A: Riverdance – I love the power, the emotion, and the movement. Its spine tingling. I have been known to perform the Irish Jig from time to time.
