Aycliffe racing driver Scarlet Whitaker Dunn has returned to the racetrack for the first time in 2023.
Battling against the extremely cold conditions and a very busy racetrack, Scarlet still managed to put in some very impressive laps around the Warden Law circuit in Sunderland.
Scarlet, aged 11, is a pupil at Woodham Academy and is the daughter of Amanda Whitaker Dunn â one of Britain’s most successful female racing drivers, with over 50 race wins and three national and 1 European single seater Championship titles to her name in a glittering, 20-year career.
“Iâm so proud of Scarlet â she drove well and was so keen to be back on track,â said Amanda.
Scarlett added: âIt was really busy on track which made the sessions exhilarating! The cold winter weather wasnât the best but there was lots of new friends to meet.â
Scarletâs Grandad, Ron Whitaker â who was also a former racer in the 1970âs â purchased and prepared Scarlettâs car for racing.
The family would like to thank team Amaron Racing and PHM (Peninsula Historic Motorsport) for making this possible.
