The weekend brought some fantastic footballing action from the Juniors teams as the season progressed for all our teams.

The Under 7’s were agin superb as they won 11-1 at Sunnydale against Billingham Synthonia. Every player was fantastic throughout the game and the scorers were Alex (4), Dylan (4), Thomas (2) and Lewis. In the second game both the scoring and effort continued in a 6-1 win. The mornings men of the matches were Dylan and Thomas.

The Under 9 Russell Foster league team had two games this weekend as their first mini season was concluded. First up were Spennymoor but the team didn’t really get started and had few chances, they conceded a goal either side of half time and lost 2-0. Lucas was the man of the match. Next up were Washington who had already won promotion, but a great performance and goals for Lucas and Jake saw them overcome a two goal deficit to draw 2-2. Jake Smith was the man of the match.

The Under 9 TJFA side had a comprehensive 8-1 win against the previously unbeaten Mount Pleasant Rangers. At half time it was 1-1 with Rhys’ goal cancelled out by the visitors. The second half was superb from the lads and the goals were fired in by Harvey, Dom (2), another from Rhys and a Jayden hatrick. The friendly game had more goals in a good win and the men of the matches were Jayden and Dominic.

The Under 10’s faced Billingham Hornets at home, in an end to end first half Jake hit the bar but no goals were scored. Early in the second half Billingham scored twice. Aycliffe battled to get something from the game and Thomas scored. The equaliser didn’t quite come despite late pressure and this game ended 2-1 to the visitors.

The Under 11 Russell Foster league team went down 5-0 at home against Cleveland Hall FC. It was truly a game of two halves as all 5 goals were conceded in the first half. The second half saw a much improved performance and no goals conceded but none scored. Taylor and Jake shared the man of the match award.

The Under 11 TJFA league side were in great form and scored eleven goals with no reply in a comprehensive league win against Spraire Lads. It was 6-0 at half time with Jake P getting the opener and Jake M adding the second. Lucas scored, then Jacob set Zack up for two goals before Jake M got his second and the teams sixth. In the second half Charlie scored twice, Evan got one from the penalty spot Lucas added another and Jake M finished off his hatrick. As well as all the goals fine shots from Aaron, Harry, Lucas and Charlie struck the woodwork.

The Under 12’s took their unbeaten record to league leaders Normanby, injuries depleted them to just the required nine players. Some brilliant defending was beaten by a goal at the end of the first half so Aycliffe turned round a goal down. Hillman’s cracking left foot curling shot drew the game level, however Normanby managed to poke a goal in for a 2-1 lead. Aycliffe pressed but could not find the equaliser and ended the game in defeat despite a spirited effort, Ted Dunn was the man of the match.

The Under 13’s were at home against Hartlepool Youth. They conceded early but good team goals finished by Nathan and Olly reduced the arrears. The visitors dominated the second half, Olly added his second in consolation on a day when Nathan was man of the match.

The Under 15’s won 6-3 at home to Great Ayton. Stoker’s determined run and finish opened their account but the visitors equalised. A two goal lead was then established by half time with Stoker’s second and Burrows scoring. Ayton scored again but the same dynamic duo of Stoker and Burrows put Aycliffe 5-2 up. An amazing two penalty saves from Sanderson Howes followed before man of the match Stoker’s fourth goal sealed the win.

The Under 17’s suffered a series of circumstances leading to them facing Stockton with only 10 players. They worked hard and a Sam penalty kept them in the game at half time with the score at 1-1. The effort continued but they went behind and as the game went on the numerical disadvantage showed and they slipped to a 5-1 defeat. The ten players present ran themselves in to the ground with a fine effort.

The Under 23’s travelled to South Shields and in a dominant display they were 3-1 up at half time. The goals came from P Howe, an Oliver penalty and McCloud’s first goal for the club. They kept up the good form in the second half with M Howe and another Oliver penalty sealing a 5-1 win. Lochie Scott was deservedly awarded the man of the match by the referee.
