Saturday 3rd September – NYSD Division 2
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Rockliffe Park 1st XI – weather was cloudy with heavy rain. Newton Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bat first.

Rockliffe Park 1st XI 64 for 1 after 12 overs

The first team finished their season with a home game against Rockliffe Park, which was abandoned in the second innings when torrential rain brought a premature end to proceedings.
Adam Gittins (pictured above) was again the backbone of the Aycliffe innings, scoring 33 runs from 70 balls faced and he hit five boundaries.
Despite the game being badly affected by the weather, the bonus points gained by Rockliffe Park secured their promotion to the NYSD first division.
Aycliffe’s first team league record this season is :-played 22, won 5, drew 3, lost 13 and one no result. Total points 257 and they finished in 9th place in the NYSD 2nd division.
