A round-up of Newton Aycliffe Juniors Action…

W/E 09/02/2025

Under 8’s Blues – Travelled to Riverside Juniors Athletic and participated in a fourteen-goal thriller, with goals from Nate (2), Alex (2), and Jude (3). POTM was Carter, who made important saves in goal. PPOTM was Leyland who scored goals in the development game.

Under 9’s Juniors – Played in the cup away to Richmond Pro player, starting well Aycliffe scored goals through Reign and Connor, who earned MOTM.

Under 10’s – Travelled to face FC Hartlepool Blacks in the cup, holding their own against higher level opposition. The whole team worked hard with Noah A scoring the goal. PMOTM was Taylor for an impressive performance in midfield OMOTM was Harvey P in goal for the third game in a row, making some crucial saves.

Under 11’s Reds – Played Hartlepool St Francis, in a tough cup game against higher division opposition. Aycliffe could not navigate their way through to the next round, but did score a lovely goal from MOTM Koa.

Under 12 Whites – Lost 1-2 yesterday against Hartlepool Youth Yellows, Aycliffe were not at their best on the day. Thomas scored Aycliffe’s goal and MOTM was awarded to Chase who worked hard throughout.

Under 12’s Blacks – Lost an entertaining fixture against Eaglescliffe Elementise Blues, with goals coming from Kai (2), Ethan, and Ryley. MOTM was Kai.

Under 13’s Whites – Entertained Peterlee, coming away with a fantastic 6-1 win, with the goals coming from James (3), Oliver, Michal, and Maxi. MOTM was Oliver was outstanding after dropping from striker to midfield.

Under 13’s Blacks – Played Crook Hornets in their first game in eight weeks. After leading 3-1, Aycliffe let the lead slip, eventually going down 3-4. The goals were scored by Connor (2), and Kaylm. MPOTM was Charlie John and PPOTM was Jake.

Under 16’s Whites – Progressed to the third round of the cup with a 4-3 win away to Darlington Young Bulls. Debutant Ashton, Henry, and Ethan (2) scored the goals. MOTM was Henry with two assists and a goal.

Under 23’s – Lost 4-2 away at Witton Gilbert, after trailing 4-0 inside twenty minutes, Aycliffe managed to pull two goals back through Matty and Sam and managed to miss a penalty.

W/E 16/02/2025

Under 8’s – Made the long trip to face Whitby and put in an exceptional performance with Oliver helping himself to two goals.

Under 10’s – Entertained Skelton United, Aycliffe started off bright and scored goals from Eddie M and Noah A. The OMOTM was Eddie M for his constant energy and threat going forward and PMOTM was Isaac D for his efforts in midfield and all-round play.

Under 12’s Whites – Travelled to Washington Athletic Sparta, putting in an impressive performance to win an exciting game 3-2. The goals were scored Oscar, Ollie, and Layton. MOTM was Oscar.

Under 13’s Juniors – Got back to winning ways in the league with a 4-2 win over local rivals Bishop St Mary’s. Jonah, Phoebe, Will, and Toby scored the goals. This ensured Aycliffe left with the three points.

Under 16’s Whites – Travelled to Seaton Carew, coming away with a stunning 5-0 victory. Aycliffe controlled the game from start to finish with goals from Taylor, Aston Ethan, Jayden, and Daniel who converted a penalty to score his first ever goal for the team. MOTM was Ashton who controlled the midfield.
