Newton Aycliffe have added experienced former professional player Andy Toman to their coaching staff.
The 50-year-old ex-Darlington and Hartlepool midfielder has been brought in to help out, after previous coach Brian Atkinson was never replaced.
Toman, from Northallerton, played well over 200 Football League games during a 22-year playing career with Pools, Quakers, Lincoln, Scunthorpe and Scarborough.
He also has valuable Northern League experience, having previously managed Durham City, Guisborough, Northallerton and Seaham Red Star.
In an interview with Aycliffeâs match programme for Saturdayâs game at home to Marske United, chairman and assistant manager Gary Farley said: âHeâs come in and done great. He has fresh ideas, itâs a new voice for the lads and itâs stimulating for them.
âAndy is very experienced and he knows what heâs doing and itâs important to have another figure there for the lads.â
Toman will enjoy his first home game with Aycliffe this Saturday â weâre sure heâll get a warm welcome from the clubâs fans.
