Huntsman maintain unbeaten start

Huntsman 5, FC Tow Law 2

By Craig Woodhead

The Huntsman continued their terrific start to the season with a convincing 5-2 victory over FC Tow Law on Sunday.

Manager Neil Dodds named a virtually unchanged side from the victory over Kirk Merrington, with Ste Williams replacing Carl Bates at right-back the only adjustment.

Following a quiet opening period to the game, Anthony McDonald fired in a deep free kick into a great area and Reed Molloy leapt best glancing his header into the far corner to make it 1-0 to the home side.

Ten minutes later, it was Molloy again, who notched his second of the game and 4th of the season, with a great piece of individual skill. A well weighted through ball allowed him to spin the defender before applying a cool finish into the corner.

However, barely two minutes after going two goals up, a momentary defensive lapse allowed Tow Law to draw level. A good bit of work down the right hand side, allowed Readman to score his first of the game.

Tow Law got to grips with the game following the break and were rewarded when McDonald brought down their striker in the box for a penalty. Up stepped Readman, who calmly dispatched from the spot to pull the visitors level.

No sign of panic from the home side, and it was star man Molloy again who drove down the left hand side before crossing, and the ball deflected into the Tow Law net. One for the dubious goals panel one would suspect.

Three quickly became four, as a gut busting run down the left flank from Bryan Durr enabled a tap in at the backpost from Michael Sproates for his first of the season.

The home side never relented and Callum Farley capped an energetic display with a goal; closing down the keeper and calmly tucking the ball into the bottom corner.

Early days so far, but two wins from two with ten goals scored is a magnificent start. Next up is B.A Bay Horse away this Sunday.
