Au Fait Marketing new apprentices

A Newton Aycliffe company that specialises in social networking is looking to expand – with two new jobs being created and more on the way.

Au Fait Business and Marketing Services, based on Aycliffe Business Park (ABP), has appointed 17-year-olds Briany Hodgson (pictured left) and Caitlin Sharkey to its team.

They’re both now enjoying Apprenticeships in business administration with Au Fait, in partnership with local training-provider ITEC.

Rachel is also looking to recruit a new in-bound marketing manager to her four-man team at Enterprise House, situated at the vibrant HUB Workspace at ABP.

And she has ambitious plans to further increase her team before the end of the year, after starting the company only six years ago.

“These are really exciting times for us,“ says Rachel (pictured centre), whose MBA dissertation was an analysis of social media and strategic intent.

“We’ve already doubled in size in the last year and we have big plans to build on that in the very near future with some very exciting announcements in the pipeline.“

Rachel’s two Apprentices are already winning her key clients over.

She added: “They’ve settled in very quickly. They’re enthusiastic, talented and fit into our ethos of enjoying coming to work.

“We’re also getting unsolicited feedback from our clients that they’re a pleasure to deal with, which is music to my ears.

“One of the things I’m really passionate about is incubating talent. The longer in the tooth I get, the more important it is to inject youth into the business.

“The landscape of marketing is so shaped by new concepts, we must be in a position to deliver of-the-moment solutions for clients.“

Briany left Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College last summer, while her colleague Caitlin, from Aycliffe, went to Tudhoe Grange School in Spennymoor before embarking on her new career.

“We’re both loving it,“ said Briany. “It’s an enjoyable place to work but, more importantly, we’re learning every step of the way while earning.”
