Saturday 2nd April, 2011 – Newton Aycliffe are crowned champions of the Northern League second division after a fantastic campaign.
Goals by strikers Elliot Gardner and Warren Byrne earn a point for Allan Oliver’s side, as the Newtonians only manage a 2-2 draw with Chester-le-Street at Moore Lane Park.
But results elsewhere gifted Aycliffe an early title – and the celebrations begun!
