NAFC Junior Section round-up

A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section…

Under 9’s – Played against Aycliffe Youth, the juniors started the game brightly and created a few chances, but unfortunately could not take that chance to score. However, it was still a great performance from the team.

Under 10’s Blacks – Hosted Hartlepool St. Francis in a friendly, after a bright start Aycliffe found themselves behind failing to clear. The players heads never dropped as they continued to look dangerous going forward and were soon on level when a quick throw-in released Fin down the right who whipped a hard low cross in for Tyler to side foot home. Aycliffe continued to enjoy lots of possession, winning the ball in midfield Jarrod picked out Max with a lovely ball who in turn played a lovely through ball for Fin to run onto slotting home. In the second half Aycliffe continued to attack and went close on numerous occasions, the third goal come when Max was bundled over in the box and Fin fired into the roof of the net from the spot. MOTM was shared with Fin and Charlie.

Under 11’s – Played against Whitton Park in a friendly, in an exciting game Aycliffe played fast pressing football which led to scoring ten goals through Jonah (4), Dom (3), Dec (2), and Lucas.

Under 17’s – Travelled to face Shotton Colts in their penultimate game this season, with both teams pushing for a second placed finish. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be as Aycliffe conceded in the first minute, then despite having the better of the play, and the better chances, tired legs eventually played the part on the final score as Shotton ran out 4-0 winners. MOTM was shared with Bo / Louis.

Under 17’s – Finished the season with a 6-1 away win vs Washington Wildcats, looking to finish in third place.
