A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe FC’s Junior Section.

Under 7’s Juniors – Put in an impressive performance against Washington Athletics. In a wonderful team effort, Lincoln, Colton, Reign and Felix scored goals. MOTM was Joe who played great in three different positions.

Under 7’s Whites – Played against Hebburn Madrid Gold, in what turned out to be a game of two halves, Aycliffe dominated up to the break with two goals from Jack. MOTM was Jack.

Under 7’s Reds – Had a game full of goals from Kian (5) and Jack. MOTM was Leo for an outstanding defensive display.

Under 9’s – Travelled Marton Blues and in tough conditions played some great attacking football with goals from Joseph (2), Charlie and Own Goal. MOTM was Mario for his nonstop running and tackling.

Under 10’s Blacks – Hosted Normanby United. it took a while for both teams to find their feet in harsh weather. It was Chase who eventually broke the deadlock before half time. Into the second half, Aycliffe scored a further three goals from Jacob, Max and Fin. MOTM was Fletcher for his great defensive display.

Under 10 Whites – Played against Herrington Whites and scored two great goals from William and Harry. MOTM was goal scorer William.

Under 11’s Whites – Travelled to Wrekenton, Aycliffe led early on with a goal from James, it did not go Aycliffe’s way in the second half despite several chances being saved by the opposition goalkeeper. MOTM was Sammy,

Under 11’s Juniors – Put in an exceptional performance at home to Shincliffe. Aycliffe controlled from the start with Dom scoring two great goals. Into the second half, Aycliffe got another goal through Dec. MOTM was Dom for a great all-round performance.

Under 11’s Blacks – Played against Brandon Utd Blues and created some good early chances, with Kaylm taking advantage of a loose ball with a great strike in the top corner. The second half was goalless despite both teams creating chances. MOTM was Connor who was a constant threat.

Under 13’s – Battled back from trailing 2-0, to rescue a point with a last-minute screamer against Redcar Town Royals. The goals coming from Huey and Callum. MOTM was Huey.

Under 14’s Blacks – Travelled to Washington Blues, Aycliffe started brightly with Zak heading in from a Jake corner, before Washington equalised. Into the second half, Jake set up Danny to score the winner for Aycliffe. MOTM was Jake.

Under 14’s Whites – Travelled to South Park Rangers, making it four wins from four with a convincing 11-2 win. The goals were scored by Tom (4), Jake G (4) and Noah (3). MOTM was Tom.

Under 15’s Reds – Picked up three points with a 3-1 win away to Riverside Whites. Goals from Harry, Thomas and an own goal give Aycliffe a comfortable lead, with the home team grabbing a late consolation.

Under 18’s – Returned to winning ways with a hard fought 2-3 win away to Boro Rangers in the League cup. Trailing 2-0 at half time, Aycliffe upped their effort and intensity scored through Charlie, Thomas, and Josh.
