February 28th, 2013 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

By Martin Walker

Police would like to speak to a man who is suspected of stealing a £2.49 box of Tetley tea-bags from an Aycliffe shop.

Between 9.25 am and 9.45 am on Monday (25th February), the man pictured above walked into Poundstretcher in the town centre.

Police say he then selected items from the display and placed them into the bag before leaving the store without offering payment.

One item stolen was a pack of 160 Tetley Tea-bags, valued at £2.49.

“We are very keen to identify him and would encourage anyone knowing his identity or whereabouts to make contact with us,” said Sergeant Mark Edwards.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured should call police on 101, or contact the Neighbourhood Police Team on Facebook by clicking here.
