Horndale Community Association visits Lightwater Valley

May 9th, 2019 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Horndale Community Association enjoyed a trip to North Yorkshire theme park Lightwater Valley recently.

HCA was joined by Durham City of Sanctuary, who also took a coach full of people, so a total of nearly 100 enjoyed the community event.

“Everyone enjoyed themselves despite the weather being a bit wet, the upside there were very few queues to access the rides,” said HCA chair Philip Clark.

“On the same day Acorn Community Group held their highly successful annual Petting Zoo, Easter Sunday saw Junction 7 hold a community dinner for approximately 100 people and April 13 saw Neville Community Association holding a successful Easter event.

“Community Spirit have held several events over the last few months, so with lots of groups working across our town working for the better of others, I can’t think of another town our size that has so many groups making a difference to others.”
