Horndale Community Association set for inaugural meeting

January 3rd, 2019 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

A popular community group is set for its inaugural meeting after changing its name.

Horndale Community Association’s first meeting of 2019 is due to be held next Wednesday.

It’s the group’s first meeting since rebranding as Horndale Community Association from its previous moniker Horndale Residents Association.

But chairman Philip Clark, pictured above, insists: “We may have changed our name, but our work of improving the lives of those living in our communities remains the same.

“2019 looks likely to be another great year with funding already secured to provide trips and events for the coming few months.

“Our last trip of 2018 was to Billingham Forum to see Peter Pan everyone enjoyed the show – I’m not sure who enjoyed it the most, the little ones or the adults!

“Last year also saw us hit the £100,000 mark of funding we have secured since we started in October 2012.

“Our meetings are open to everyone and are very relaxed with the chance to meet your local councillors, police and (housing provider) Livin, as well as people interested in making our good neighbourhoods even better places to live.”

The first meeting of the Horndale Community Association is due to be held at Greenfield Arts Centre next Wednesday, January 9, with refreshments from 5.45pm and the meeting due to start at 6pm.
