GET INTO GOLF

Fancy teeing-off a new hobby?

Durham County Council is offering six-week starter courses for adults who want to get into golf.

Sessions are run by professional coaches and all is equipment is provided.

Victoria Lee, Durham County Council adult healthy lifestyle coordinator, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are keen to take up golf to come along and give it a go in a friendly and encouraging environment with other adult beginners – and without breaking the bank.”

Courses start on the following dates:

Barnard Castle Golf Course
· Men            Thursday, 19 April            5.30pm – 7pm
Saturday, 21 April            3pm – 4.30pm
· Women        Tuesday, 17 April            5.30pm – 7pm
Saturday, 21 April            1.30pm – 3pm

Courses cost £12 and fees must be paid in full when booking. For more information, contact Victoria Lee on 07584 141 202.

Crook Golf Club
· Women over 16    Tuesday, 17 April            5.30pm – 6pm

Sessions last one hour and cost £2. For more information, contact Marie Unwin, Durham County Council sport and physical activity project officer, on 07834 569 436.
