The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) are inviting people to a free Open Day on Saturday 1 June between 10am and 2pm to find out what’s available for them.

If you’re looking for something fun and different to do with the kids, there will be family games, arts and crafts and smoothie making.

Perhaps you want to know what social activities are available to get you out of the house and meeting new people. There will be information on group activities such as New Age Kurling, Boccia, Zumba Gold, Colour your Life, health walks and cycling.

If you are aged 40 – 74 come along and have a health check. Health checks include height, weight and waist measurements, a simple finger stick test for cholesterol and blood pressure checks (if eligible) Health Trainers will also be offering advice on the diet and nutrition, physical activity, goal setting, stopping smoking and much, much more.

Or have a dip in the relaxing Hydrotherapy Pool, between 12-2pm it’s ideal for people of all ages and abilities and is safe for non swimmers; don’t forget your swim wear! People can also find out more about the range of therapies and treatments available to help alleviate stress, increase energy levels, confidence and mobility or reduce aches and pains.

PCP staff will be on hand to answer questions and all visitors will receive a special offer for the Mall Coffee shop.

There will be a full programme of activities to discover at the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe and it’s all free for one day only! Carol Wood, Business Development Director for the PCP says: “We feel there is a full range of exciting and interesting activities on offer to help people get fit, learn a new skill, discover a new hobby or improve their confidence and self-esteem.”

“We would also like to know if there is something people want to do that isn’t on offer. Please pop in, have a nosy and tell us what you would like the Pioneering Care Centre to offer you.”
