Boy in court after Aycliffe stabbing

A teenage boy appeared in court this morning after a 15-year-old was stabbed in Newton Aycliffe.

As reported by Aycliffe Today on Tuesday, police responded to a report from the ambulance service at about 8.45pm on Monday after a boy had been stabbed in the Woodham Burn area.

A 15-year-old local boy was taken by ambulance to the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough where he remains in a stable condition.

A local youth, also aged 15 who cannot be named, was arrested at the scene and appeared before Newton Aycliffe Magistrates on Wednesday morning, charged with wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon.

He’s due to appear before a youth court on Monday 13th July.
