BEAT THE EXPERT

April 6th, 2012 Martin Walker Features, Football, Sport 0 comments 0

With Newcastle taking on Swansea in a Good Friday fixture today, our resident expert makes his prediction on this special Easter tie.

He’ll be back tomorrow to cast his opinion on other fixtures in the region over the weekend.

Meanwhile…

Swansea v Newcastle
Premier League (Friday, 4.30pm)
A fixture that some thought back in August would be a key game in the battle to avoid the drop is instead a clash pitting arguably the two biggest overachievers this season.
The manager of the year award is likely to go to either Brendan Rodgers or Alan Pardew at the end of the season and they clash on this Good Friday Premier League fixture.
Swansea have only lost three games at home this season, but Newcastle are well equipped to make that four. Swansea will dominate possession, but the Magpies can sit deep, absorb pressure and strike on the counter through their impressive attacking trio of Hatem Ben Arfa, Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse.
Prediction: Newcastle to (temporarily) go fifth with an entertaining 2-1 victory.
