Aycliffe Running Club round-up

September 17th, 2020 Martin Walker Sport 0 comments 0

By Paul Dalton

In a quiet week, which would normally see the biggest running event on the North East race calendar, many members of Aycliffe Running Club still threw themselves into the spirit of things by running their own Half Marathon to participate in the virtual ‘Great North Run Reimagined’, with some also raising money for their chosen charities.

The only race performances for the club came at the Castleton Show Run, which still went ahead despite the cancellation of the show itself.

With Club Championship points on the line, first home for Aycliffe, and first in his age category (Vet60), was Andy Talbot, who completed the undulating six-mile race in 43:32.

Trish Kay was next across the finish line in a time of 56:10, and Trish was followed home by David Stothard in 58:27.

If you have any queries about the activities of Aycliffe Running Club, visit ayclifferunningclub.org.uk, or contact the club’s secretary, Donna, at [email protected].
