Aycliffe Running Club round-up

The new year has got off to a great start with members starting to compete from very early in January.

For this report the focus is on the Brass Monkey half marathon which took place on January 19.

This race is a fast and flat race which loops around villages in the area and finishes at York racecourse. It is a very popular race and often entries sell out quickly.

One this day we had 10 members make the journey. First home for the club was John Surtees in a time of 1.18.29.

He was followed Matt Muir in a new PB of 1.23.41, Trevor Dixon 1.30.30, Mark Bainbridge 1.43.55, Heather Bainbridge 2.02.41, Jayne Rudd 2.22.29, RIchard Tonge 2.27.48 and Em Flynn in 2.37.39

Elsewhere we have had members take part in the following races, Newcastle 10k, Cross Border 10k, Druridge Bay 10k, Dewsbury 10k and Druridge Bay Half Marathon.

In addition members have continued to take part in parkruns both locally and a bit further afield.

If you are interested in joining the club please check out our social media pages or contact us at [email protected]
