On Saturday, one member took on a very unique and challenging event completing the Ultra North 55 which is a 55k race starting and finishing in the centre of Newcastle before following the south side of the river Tyne and heading through the Derwent Valley.

This was Carley Gibson’s first Ultra Race and she managed to complete the course in a time of 7:47:27 before enjoying a well earned beer.

On Sunday, seven runners took part in the second race in the Darlington 10k trail Series at South Park.

On Saturday, 25 members started their weekend with a parkrun, taking in the Silksworth, Gateshead, Sedgefield, Darlington South Park, Hackworth, Hartlepool, Enniskillen, Jubilee and Wynyard Woodland events.

At Silksworth, Craig Robinson (31:59) completed the event for the first time. At Sedgefield Gareth Hamblin set a new personal best for the course, finishing in a time of 20:17.
