Aycliffe Running Club round-up

Two members took part in the 70th Brampton to Carlisle 10 Mile Race last week.

John Surtees was first back for the club in a time of 59:04. Next back was Tracey Surtees finishing in a time of 1:09:25

On Saturday 26 September, an amazing 19 Members took part in the Ravenstone 10k road race. That included Gareth Kyle who finished fourth in the race in a time of 37:32. Others taking part were Robert Young 43:46, Martyn Knox 47:58, Daniel Tatham 48:11, Kevin Tatham 51:15, Mark Bainbridge 53:36, Richie Johnson 54:36, Trish Kay 55:59, Andrew Lumley 56:47, Laura Grainger 57:26, Carley Gibson 59:27, Alan Kellett 1:00:08, Beverley Phillippo 1:00:26, Eve Doe 1:04:43, Kirsty Cameron 1:05:01, Sandrine Hewitt 1:05:10, Anne Kellett 1:05:21, Craig Robinson 1:05:35 and Heather Morgan 1:06:39.

Saturday 26 November saw 19 Members start their weekend with a parkrun taking in the Sedgefield, Blackhill, Darlington South Park, Hackworth, Keswick and Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation events.

John Surtees finished third in the Darlington South Park event in a time of 17:33

Over at Hackworth, Stuart Joyce went one place better finishing second place in a time of 22:12. At the Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation, Paul Rands finished in second place in a time of 21:59 which was also a new personal best for this course.

On the previous Saturday, there were 21 Members who started their week with a parkrun, with a number of members taking part in the event at Hackworth Park in Shildon. John Firby finished first in a time of 18:01, followed by Dez Fielden in second place in a time of 19:15. Dave Blewitt was fifth in a time of 21:58 with Stuart Joyce sixth (22:27) and Gareth Hamblin seventh (23:18). Laura Grainger was third female in the event finishing in a new Personal Best for the course of 27:00.
