Aycliffe runners in Redcar Half Marathon

Members of Aycliffe Running Club and their supporters travelled to Redcar on Sunday (October 1) for the annual Beacon 5K and Half Marathon fast, flat, road races.

First to finish in the 5K event for Aycliffe Running Club was George Dixon 11th position in 18:58 followed by Richard Campbell 14th position in 19:38 and then Trish Kay 58th position in 24:02 and 2nd F55-59.

First to finish the Half Marathon for ARC was Martyn Knox in 1:37:49 followed by Jason Dixon in 1:40:35 ( a new PB by 3 minutes ), then Dave Blewitt 1:42:00 and Richard Holland 1:44:40.

First lady to complete the course for ARC was Michelle Dixon in 1:47:38 ( a new PB by 6 minutes ).

Rob Nicholson followed in 1:49:07 then Angela Barrett 1:51:06, Nick Gilling 1:57:46 and Julie Nisbet 2:01:18. It was Heather Fenwick’s first Half Marathon and she completed the race in 2:01:30.

Ian Baronowski finished in 2:04:05 and Susan Clark 2:16:47. It was also Denise Evans first Half Marathon and she completed the course in 2:18:56.
