Aycliffe runners enjoy race success

Aycliffe Club runners have participated in a 6.5 mile race and a regional track and field league, enjoying success.

Club runner Ian Wilks competed in the North East Masters track and field league at Monkton Stadium. He ran 85 seconds for the 400 meters, 3.03 for the 800 meters, 5.59 for 1500 meters and 12.44 for the 3000 meters. He placed first in his age group.

It was a good turnout from Aycliffe Running Club for the Wynyard Whitsun 6.5 mile trail race at Wynyard Woodland Park, with 12 runners from the club participating.

First home for the club and placing 9th overall was Richard Campbell in a time of 42.36. Next came Tom Porter in 43.00, Christine Mudd who placed 2nd lady overall in 45.43, Michelle Zamir in 47.51, Rob Jayne in 48.15, Michelle Jane in 48.31, Dave Blewitt in 50.41, Trish Kay in 54.12, Angela Barrett in 56.59, Rob Nicholson in 59.10, Denise Evans in 60.43 and Susan Clark in 67.15.
