This week’s racing began with parkrun for many of our members with Mark Bainbridge achieving a PB for the course at South Park, Darlington in a time of 20.39.

On Sunday (August 25) two of our members went international and partook in the Chantilly Half marathon in France.

The race was run in very hot conditions with the temperature around 32 degrees.

Simon Matthew Turner and Lindsey Brown (pictured above) completed this in times of 2.27.03 and 2.27.04 respectively.

Also on Sunday in conditions that were only slightly cooler ARC had a good turnout for the 5 mile trail race at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland (pictured below).

First home for the club in what is not an easy run was Andy Talbot in 39.55, followed by Dave Blewitt 44.59, Mark Bainbridge 48.14, Brett Lambert 49.08, Heather Morgan 49.46, Sandra Collins 51.14, John Burnside 52.07, Trish Kay 53.00, David Stothard 54.28, Bev Phillippo 55.55, John Richardson 56.08, Rob Nicholson 56.13, Ian Baronowski 57.34, Sam Elwell 1.01.54, Tracey Pickering 1.09.07, Eve Doe 1.10.00, Paula Lambert 1.12.03, Susan Clark 1.12.03, Jane Burnside 1.12.03, Carley Gibson 1.15.07, Jan McLuckie 1.20.49.

For anyone interested in joining the club, you can simply turn up at one of our sessions all of which start from the Oakleaf Complex in Newton Aycliffe. Monday night is beginners run at 6.30pm., Tuesday is endurance/speed session from 7pm, and Thursday is a track session and this takes place at Shildon Track.

Further details can be found on our website or facebook pages or alternatively you can message the club via facebook for more information.
