AYCLIFFE JOINT-FOURTH WITH WIN

Newton Aycliffe climbed to joint-fourth in the Northern League first division with their win at home to Marske United.

The Newtonians leapfrogged Dunston, who drew 0-0 at Bedlington Terriers today, with their 2-0 victory at Moore Lane Park.

Allan Oliver’s side go level with Spennymoor after they drew 1-1 at home to West Auckland.

Aycliffe are now eight points clear of seventh-placed Bishop Auckland, after the Two Blues also drew, 1-1 at Consett.
