Newton Aycliffe will face Ebac Northern League second division side Billingham Synthonia in the semi final of the Durham Challenge Cup.
Aycliffe were first drawn out of the Durham FA hat and so have the home draw for the tie to be played at Moore Lane on Tuesday February 28.
The Newtonians are the current holders of the County’s premier cup competition having beaten West Auckland in last season’s final.
The semi-final place was earned thanks to a close win over Seaham Red Star in January.
Since then Aycliffe have earned a point at Jarrow Roofing but were denied a game last Saturday when snow forced the postponement of the scheduled game at Consett.
Hopefully the weather will improve for the trip to Penrith on Saturday February 18.
The rearranged Consett game will be played on Tuesday February 21. Aycliffe then return to Moore Lane for a league game against Whitley Bay on Saturday February 25, before their semi-final tie.
