Seventeen-year-old Tom Dearden (sponsored by Kevin Burton) and Chris Palmer both batted well with each player scoring half centuries in the ultimately unsuccessful Aycliffe reply.
After 15 games, the first team have just 119 points and now sit at the bottom of the NYSD 2nd division table, 20 points adrift of safety and having played a game more than the team in 10th place.

Patrick Howe, playing only his second game of the season was asked to open the batting and then proceeded to dominate the innings with an outstanding career best 92 not out off 104 balls hitting 13 boundaries and two sixes in the process.
During the Aycliffe innings, they were in trouble at 81 for 7, when Howe was joined at the crease by 13-year-old Trent Telford and the pair batted brilliantly to set a new 2nd team club partnership record for the 8th wicket of 94 to take their side to a respectable 175 for 8. Telford was eventually dismissed for 37 off 51 balls and his career best innings included five well struck boundaries.
