Greenfield students recognised for 100% attendance

October 16th, 2018 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Sinead Hinton and Ben Maxfield were recognised with for five years without absence from Greenfield Community College during a special ceremony.

Head teacher Mr Priestley and assistant head teacher Mrs Stubbs joined them at Durham County Cricket Club to see them receive their well-deserved award and to add their congratulations to recognise their excellent achievement.

The evening has become a regular date in the diary for Greenfield students who have shown commitment and resilience throughout their five years at school – qualities that will prepare them as they continue their journey through education and employment.

Ian Shanks, of Children and Young People’s Services, congratulated the students in a letter to the school.

“On behalf of the Corporate Director of Children and Young People’s Services and other colleagues, may I thank you for the contribution you and your staff have made to the Local Authority’s priority on raising attendance,” he said.

“These students can be held up as an example both to their peers and successors and we hope to see more students from your school receiving awards in subsequent years.”

Staff at Greenfield Community College are committed to raising aspirations and recognising achievements of each and every young person.
