ZUMBATHON RAISES CHARITY CASH

August 8th, 2012 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

Zumba lovers came out in force as Greenfield School played host to the Banana Army’s recent Zumbathon in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

With the lure of cakes and photo-booth fun provided by the event sponsor Boothalicious, the crowded room wiggled, whooped, shimmied and shook their way through 2 hours of Zumba moves.

The event, one in a string organised by the Banana Army, raised £426.

Organiser and Justgiving Fundraiser of the Year finalist 2011 Karen Everson said: “Once again the support of local people astounded us.

“We’re now gearing up for the biggest event in our calendar, The Forget Me Not Ball, this year a spectacular Mardi Gras Masquerade which is sponsored by local firm K&B Kitchen Creations and will be held at Hardwick Hall on Friday 28th September 2012.

“Tickets are still available, as are table sponsorship and promotional opportunities for local businesses.”

For more information on any of the events held by the Banana Army please visit www.bananaarmy2011.co.uk or contact Karen Everson directly on 07974 153334.
