Youthy football round-up

With over half our teams having no scheduled game or having their match postponed, those that did play had a mixed bag of results

Middlesbrough 0 v 1 U12 Girls
Middlesbrough put Aycliffe under a lot of pressure throughout the game. However, the girls coped well, dealing with the pressure and kept on searching for opportunities to counter. On 25 minutes Imogen’s throw-in caught the Middlesbrough defenders off guard and gave Lily time to execute a perfect finish, which proved to be the winning goal MOTM: Annabelle

U18 Boys 3 v 1 Beamish (Cup)
After a slow start, Aycliffe were 1-0 down at halftime. Aycliffe then made a couple of tactical changes. With 20 minutes to go, the ball fell to Tyler Bowater, 35 yards away from goal, who saw the keeper off his line and scored a screamer to equalise. In the final 10 minutes, Calum Whitfield ran through to make it 2-1 with Mark Isigoma adding a 3rd with minutes to go.

Darlington TSC 2 v 6 U12 Eagles
A really good performance from the boys. Worked really hard from the first whistle, applying pressure and looked to play good passing football.
Goals from Jack V x 3, Jack T x 2 and Borys. MOM Jack

U11 Wildcats v Durham Leopards
It was a strange game doing everything but score in the first 20 mins then went 1-0 down. The girls kept fighting then we gave away a penalty that thankfully went wide. Second half we took control of the game and scored 3 in the last 15 mins with Phoebe grabbing them all.

U9 Wildcats v Washington
Tough game on paper today for the girls. But they managed to dominate the first-half, creating multiple chances & were unlucky not to convert. Washington took the lead on the stroke of half-time against the run of play and increased their lead in the second-half. The girls were unlucky today but their performance demonstrated just how much they’ve improved. Erin & Brooke POTM’s.

Jarrow Warriors 5 v 3 U14 Eagles
A game of 2 halves where The Eagles started by dominating and were ahead by 2 however the second half didn’t go our way. Kian in goal getting injured however Ellis H stepped up for the team. Disappointing result in the end but we go again next weekend.
Goals from Hamza, Will and Joel MOM Hamza

Brompton 3 v 0 U13 Eagles
Some good individual performances, but very little cohesion as a team. Brompton dominated large parts of the game & were worthy winners. Well done to Jacob & Elliott for picking up Parents & Coaches MOM.

U8 Eagles v Trimdon
The lads started really well today, with some good shape to the team. We had worked on taking the game to the opposition and putting pressure on right from the start and that’s exactly what the team did. The whole team put in a strong performance with some good football played at times, much improved use of the ball and driving into space. Lots of effort and 4 good team goals scored.

Marton FC v U7 Eagles
Another tough match for the boys but the performances are improving with every game. These games are giving them invaluable experience at the start of their football journey.

Little Eagles Boys Football Development Sessions for boys 4-7 yrs old, continue every Tuesday evening, indoors in Newton Aycliffe. For more information contact Berni 07939045242
