Youthy FC round-up

By Berni Borsberry

The club were proud to be part of the FA silent weekend, leaving the children to play without influence from the side-lines and as the oakleaf was closed for the firework display all our teams had to play their matches away.

There were no fixtures for our women and u23’s as well as 6 of our junior teams.

Before our u14’s game they had a visit from Mark Preston who very kindly donated a portable defibrillator to the team. Mark has been working hard to raise money to be able to provide this potentially lifesaving piece of equipment to local sports teams and we are extremely grateful that we have been lucky enough to receive one. A massive THANK YOU to him and his team of fundraisers. You are all doing a fantastic job, keep up the good work

Spennymoor Town Knights 6 v 2 u14 Eagles
The Knights took an early lead following a great stop from keeper Kian but picked up and injury as Spennymoor tapped in. Will stepped up and did a fantastic job. The Eagles played some really attractive football but it wasn’t our day. Goals Olly and Kaiden. MOM Kaiden and Oliver S

Great Ayton 2 v 2 u16 Eagles (Eagles win on penalties }
A tough game away in the cup. It was a very physical first half with the Eagles going in at HT2-0 up. Scorers Tom and Noah. The second half saw The Eagles concede twice, taking the game into a penalty shootout. Stand in keeper Lewis converted the wining penalty for the Eagles win.

Whickham Fellside 0 v 0 u18 Boys
Aycliffe dominated large spells of the game, playing some brilliant football in the process. However, they were unable to break down a resolute Whickham side. Aycliffe came closest in the first half when Tyler Bowater’s strike fired against the crossbar. Aycliffe continued to push throughout the game, but were unable to find the decisive goal

Leven Whites 1 v 2 u13 Eagles
In the first half Aycliffe created numerous chances, but couldn’t convert and it was Leven who took the lead into HT. The equaliser came courtesy of Oliver’s corner, with Edward heading home. With 5 minutes to go, Isaac’s free-kick from 25+ yards found the top-right corner, to complete the comeback

Hartlepool St Francis 2 v 7 u12 Eagles
A fantastic win for the boys today who dominated from the start. Players were asked to play in different positions and this worked well. Brandon and Oliver stepped in to play in goal and both did a great job. Scorers Aiden 2, Brandon 2, Riley, Carter and Borys
we came away with a well deserved point, Goals: Imogen, Hannah, Lily and Peyton

Darlington21st All Stars v u11 Eagles
Great game from both teams, very good competitive match with the Eagles coming away victorious again. On the score sheet this week: Harrison, Faris x2, Sam x3, Oliver & Tarek

Durham FC v u10 Eagles
A game dominated by Aycliffe taking everything into the game that was done in training

Darlington RA v u7 Eagles
Although a friendly the boys came out on top of a very competitive game

Darlington FC 3 V 4 u14 Girls
A well deserved victory for the girls, who had to dig deep until the very final whistle. They worked hard as a unit and showed awesome teamwork at times.

Washington Wildcats 5 v 1 u13 Girls
An even first half finished 2-1 at HT with Payton scoring on her birthday. A questionable third for the hosts give them the momentum and Aycliffe conceded two more

Hartlepool 4 v 4 u12 Girls
Aycliffe scored after 15 minutes,as Imogen scored from 40 yards. Hannah followed up 5 minutes later to put us 2 goals ahead. Hartlepool then scored twice in the run up to half time. Both teams scored twice in the last 10 minutes and

Hebburn Blues 4 v 4 u11 Wildcats
The girls went 1-0 down but Phoebe equalised. By half time Aycliffe were 3-1 down but were playing well. We got back to 3-2 as Lucy scored. Phoebe scored another 2 for her hat-trick to put us 4-3 up and Hebburn equalised with 10 mins to go

Washington v u10 Girls
The U10 girls maintained their unbeaten start with a convincing win. PoppyB scored a hatrick within the first 5 mins and added another 2 later in the second half. EmilyC scored twice, both from the edge of the box. PoppyH and Amelia joined the scoring, before a goal coming from a corner which deflected off their player.
