Youth games off – but club enjoys pre-Christmas party

December 3rd, 2021 Martin Walker Youth Football 0 comments 0

With the region being battered from storm Arwen over the weekend, all of Newton Aycliffe FC’s Junior Section games fell foul to the weather and were postponed last weekend.

The club is hoping for an upturn in the weather for games to resume on Saturday (December 4).

The bad weather did little to stop the parents and coaches enjoying a pre-Christmas party with a variety of events including quiz, live band, pie and peas supper, and a raffle being held to help fundraise towards club funds.

“A great time was had by everyone who attended the event at Newton Aycliffe Sports Club, which kindly organised by our Under 13’s manager Scott Hayward,” said the club’s Paul Blythe.

A total of £1,035 was raised from the event, which will be invaluable in helping to improve team equipment and facilities.
