July 29th, 2022 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Do you know what support is available to you in County Durham for cancer prevention awareness, or support for yourself or a loved one impacted by cancer?

Brought to you by the County Durham Workplace Health, an awareness raising event showcased transformative services on your doorstep.

Hosted at New College Durham on Wednesday 27 July 2022, from 9.30am until 12noon, the event saw leading services take to the stage, including the Pioneering Care Partnership’s (PCP) Cancer Awareness team, Northern Cancer Alliance, Macmillan Joining the Dots and Cancern.

Karen Stubbings, Project Lead of Workplace Health at the PCP, said: “It was a great opportunity to bring together a variety of services that support local people with cancer, whether it’s spotting the early signs and symptoms or supporting individuals and their families with the current impacts of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

“We received wonderful feedback for our guest speakers, of which many expressed gratitude to have such a fantastic support network available for the people of County Durham. If you would like to know more about any of the services, please get in touch.”

PCP’s Cancer Awareness team raise cancer prevention awareness through engaging workshops delivered in-person or online.
