Time running out to register to vote

Residents in County Durham have just days left to ensure they are registered to vote in the forthcoming Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections.

The election will be held on Thursday 5 May and anyone who is not already registered to vote must do so by Monday 18 April.

People are encouraged to register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

Registered electors can also request a postal or proxy vote.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote in the PCC election is 5pm on Tuesday 19 April.

Applications for a proxy vote in the PCC election must be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday 26 April.
