Five Picks Of The Week

New Tricks: Monday 9pm, BBC1.
New episode of the popular drama sees Sandra and the team investigate an apparent suicide of a Foreign Office diplomat. The victim’s body was found in a frozen lake but her relatives believe that her boss is responsible. Can the team prove her family right?

Vikings: Tuesday 9pm, BBC2.
New series which sees Historian Alan Oliver head to Scandinavia to explore the history of the Viking warriors and discover the truth behind the legend. He begins by detailing the origins of their violent existence.

Shameless: Wednesday 10pm, Channel 4.
David Threlfall and the rest of the gang return for a new series of the comedy drama this week, which begins with Frank full of fear at the prospect of starting his new job.

Waterloo Road: Thursday 8pm, BBC1.
Imogen and Connor grow closer this week with the mysterious Imogen revealing a hidden secret. Meanwhile, Sian reaches out to Michael’s estranged father as she looks to get the two talking again.

Piers Morgan’s Life Stories: Friday 9pm, ITV1.
Piers Morgan returns for a new series of his life stories this week with Roger Moore in the hot seat. On the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Bond films, Roger recalls his acting career and also reveals the highs and lows of his personal life.
