THIS WEEK’S TV HIGHLIGHTS

June 18th, 2012 tania Features 0 comments 0

Brodie Millichap
picks out this week’s TV highlights…

Five Picks of the Week

The Secret Millionaire: Monday 9pm, Channel 4.

Telecoms tycoon Philip Johnston is the millionaire that goes undercover in Swansea this week. Johnston goes on a personal crusade where he meets a couple raising money to pay for treatment for their daughter’s brain tumour.

Secret Eaters: Wednesday 8pm, Channel 4.

The last of the series sees Hampshire couple Ronnie Derrett and Stuart Ellaway put under 24-hour surveillance, as host Anna Richardson attempts to solve the mystery as to why they keep putting on weight.

Silk: Wednesday 9pm, BBC1.

The last of the popular series sees Martha’s loyalty tested when she defends notorious criminal Jody Farr. However, in an unexpected twist, she soon realises that Farr isn’t being given a fair trial and she sets out to uncover the truth.

Country House Rescue: Thursday 8pm, Channel 4.

Host Simon Davies makes the journey to Chapel Cleeve in Somerset, as he aims to help cash-strapped Jennie Wilkins in her efforts to remain in her Grade II listed manor house. The property is located on the hills of Somerset and has 15 bedrooms.

Gardeners’ World: Friday 8.30pm, BBC2.

With summer, hopefully, around the corner Monty Don looks to add colour to his garden as he replaces his old plants with new annuals. Monty shows his excitement as he prepares to harvest the first fruit and veg of the season.

Soap Watch

Coronation Street sees Stella boot Karl out this week as she uncovers that he’s been gambling again. She fails to uncover Karl’s secret lover though, for now anyway.

In Emmerdale, Gennie walks in on Cameron and Chas kissing in their front room this week. But will she keep their secret?

Eastenders sees the wedding of Michael and Janine this week and with it being a classic soap wedding, what can possibly go wrong? Or right?
