THIS WEEK’S TV

Brodie Millichap picks out this week’s TV highlights…

Picks of the Week

The Syndicate (pictured): Tuesday 9pm, BBC1.
A new drama starring Timothy Spall and Matthew McNulty, which is based around a five-strong syndicate of staff at a struggling supermarket. They are all down on their luck, with their futures uncertain, when they win the lottery.

Love Life: Thursday 9pm, ITV1.
In the last part of the popular drama series, Joe tells a stunned Lucy that he is off on his travels yet again – this time to South America and Argentina. But, will he actually board the plane? Meanwhile, Penny fears Dom may still have feelings for Lucy.

Titanic With Len Goodman: Friday 8:30pm, BBC1.
First of a three-part series which sees Len Goodman exploring the history of the Titanic tragedy and its wider impact on the people who weren’t on the vessel in 1912.

Twenty Twelve: Friday 10pm, BBC2.
The spoof documentary series, starring Hugh Bonneville, returns to our screens this week. Bonneville plays Ian Fletcher, Head of Deliverance for the Olympic games.

Soap Watch:
Coronation Street sees the Platt family feuding when Audrey and David fall-out over the hair salon. Audrey is intent on going on a world cruise with Lewis, but to do so she needs to raise funds against the salon. David, in name only, now owns the salon and when he refuses to hand it back over all hell breaks loose. Audrey rips up the contract, changes the locks and sacks David. This one isn’t over yet though.
In Eastenders, Ian is left heartbroken when fiancé Mandy does a runner this week. Mandy is livid when Ian doesn’t stand up for her during a row in the Vic and she storms home. Ian eventually follows her, but when he gets back to the house he finds it empty and her engagement ring on the table.
Emmerdale sees Vicar Ashley’s abuse of his Dad Sandy turn physical this week when he pushes him to the floor as they tussle over a mop. In the process Sandy damages his wrist. Will Ashley get away with this?
