By Martin Walker

Staff at Tesco in Newton Aycliffe will be selling raffle tickets for a charity Easter Prize Draw over the long weekend.

Tesco’s new charity of the year is Cancer Research UK, with the Aycliffe store setting an ambitious target of raising £3,500 this year.

Shoppers at the store can win an Easter Hamper, which includes a variety of different Easter Eggs along with a £15 Tesco Gift Card.

Tickets are priced just £1 each and are available at The Customer Service Desk up until Monday.

Organiser Katie Tarling will also be selling tickets from the front of the store today (Friday) between 10am and 1pm, and on Monday, from 10am until 12noon.

The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday (10th April).
