Students re-design PCP floor

April 14th, 2016 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Greenfield Arts were asked to design the new floor for the Pioneering Care Centre (PCP) in Newton Aycliffe as part of their exciting new refurbishment programme.

Year 8 students from Greenfield Community College, Sunnydale Campus were given a brief and created a fantastic design that was chosen as the final flooring for the public community space.

The design was based on the concept of community, the links we have with others and how we are connected.

They took inspiration from cells in the body that multiply, rejuvenate and grow, which was inspired by the positive health and well-being work that takes place at the PCP.

The students were very proud of their work and to be invited to the launch event on the 9th March 2016.

Head teacher David Priestley said: “We are very proud that our students could contribute to the new work that has been done at the PCP.

“It is wonderful that they see their work realised and were able to receive feedback from the visitors and staff.”
